With the miracle that followed his speech, the worlds in the ten directions, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, were subdued, and countless hundreds of thousands of billions of rays of light of various colors emanated from each pore. With the miracle of his blessing, all the Buddhas in the ten directions, whatever their respective activities, put aside their pride, and all the princes of their retinues, along with the emanations of thousand-petaled lotuses, came there and prostrated with reverence. With the relics of the Buddhas filling the entire world, Offering with full, profound, and vast offerings is less meritorious than merely writing one word of this sutra, The merit obtained is even more supreme. 【English Translation】 Thus it was, the Subduer three times blessed with miraculous power. When I heard in detail the stories of the past lives of the disciples, including Dharmottara, I deeply realized the wonder of this Dharma. Guided by pramana, I knew this with certainty. Pleasing the Victorious Ones with the offering of practice, among all offerings, writing, holding, and reciting this 'Prajnaparamita' are the most excellent, the unsurpassed offering. As the Subduer said, this 'Prajnaparamita' is worthy of praise. Wherever even a mere verse of this Dharma resides, there, the five arrows of the Lord of Desire and his retinue will be far away, like a poisonous snake or a toxic herb. The masters of Others' Emanations, the demons, have long aimed their bows at the Victorious Ones and their heirs. Merely remembering this Dharma surpasses a hundred sacrifices; the four Maras (Skandha Mara, Klesha Mara, Death Mara, Devaputra Mara) immediately dissolve into space. Without relying on others for protection, even the great teacher Shakyamuni was protected by Indra. All those who are eager to destroy the great abodes of demons, why would they not proactively protect this Dharma? The worldly creator claims to have created all of existence at will, but this is clearly false. The author who relies on the profound principle of dependent origination and emptiness, the various illusory manifestations he conjures are true. May the turquoise waves of the ocean of emptiness not be disturbed by the waves of other doctrines, nor be deceived by the jewels of our own conventional truth. May the glory of the ocean of the Victorious Mother flourish here. Even if the cloud with a hundred tongues is skilled at constantly raining down a hundred streams of enlightened activity, when the great rain of listening, teaching, and realization falls, the ocean of Dharma will never be exhausted. Avalokiteshvara gazes with compassionate eyes, not abandoning the ultimate truth, and Nagarjuna's lineage guides with reason, not abandoning the conventional truth. The charioteer who drives the chariot of the Victorious Mother possesses unique and supreme wisdom. In order to perfect the accumulation of merit for those who have unwavering faith in this Dharma and for the patrons, this sutra was excellently translated by the translator Ngok Lotsawa, which brought about this auspicious circumstance. May all mothers be liberated from the ocean of existence, may the teachings of Prajnaparamita spread in the ten directions, may the king rule righteously, may all lands flourish, and may all enjoy auspicious goodness. 【English Translation】 This is dedicated to the great Bodhi by the one who possesses the glory of noble lineage and youth, and by these scholars who are proficient in writing, with the intention of faith, respect, and joy in virtue. Completed on the fifteenth day of the waxing moon in the year of the Great Drum, when the land is fertile and fish abound. This was completed in the immeasurable palace of glorious Langri Tang. (History of building the Eight Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita Sutra and the Extensive Sutra) Svasti praja bhyah! May all beings be well! With the youthful radiance of the crescent moon on the crown of auspicious arising, the red light of the lotus feet gently raised. Possessing the glory of making the three realms like daytime, Great Teacher, supreme of all Buddhas, please protect us here! With the beautiful flowers that please all the Buddhas, the joyful Holy Mother, holding elegance. Constantly bearing the burden of the Victorious One's sons, may you protect all beings from the path of darkness. The hundred flavors untasted by the enemy of honey (bees), having drunk with the wisdom of discernment, and the altruistic wish-fulfilling jewel, fully displayed on the shoulder. May the Sangha who uphold the Buddha's teachings, remain steadfast! By the activities of the precious Three Jewels, in the towering palace built by them, the kings who have continuously protected the great earth, are the ornaments of a country with flourishing Dharma and politics. There, a virtuous woman named Paljom Zangmo, from the lap of her treasure of merit, the spectacle of the mountain-like piles of scriptures, on the smooth surface like stacked blue lotuses, adorned with charming pure gold lines. This amazing new sound of Dharma, may it always hold the water treasure of Indra's heart. Whether writing, reciting, or offering this scripture, the auspiciousness and merit that it brings, may it be equal to space and perfectly accomplished! Thereafter, the lord of men, Namkha Gyaltsen Pal, the king of the earth with his mother and siblings, may they never be obscured by the fierce breath of the Rahu of time, and the violent jealousy of the unruly heretics, by the hand of Vishnu. May they sit on the throne drawn by a hundred horses of merit, the light of their activities shining in all directions, and their subjects increasing like the ocean! The 'Essence of the Holy Mother, Hundred Thousand Verses' and the extremely extensive Avatamsaka Sutra, on the dark blue paper, the main letters shining brightly. This is the essence of the teachings, the support of speech. 【English Translation】 Thereafter, with a hundred doors of eloquent teachings, and a hundred thousand kinds of wondrous sounds of the Gaṇḍī (a type of bell), constantly skilled at gathering the ocean of clear minds, holding the great monastery, the treasury of the teachings. Thus, with the three pure paths accomplished, may the Vajradhara (holder of the vajra) who is the master of the four joys in all dharmas, may his intentions become increasingly profound, and may the sun of the complete dharma arise! Named Miwang Donyo Gyalpo (Tibetan: མི་དབང་དོན་ཡོད་རྒྱལ་པོ།, meaning: Meaningful King), may his mindstream be unstained by impurities, quickly complete the two accumulations, and attain the position of Dharma King! With this blessing, the north of Ü-Tsang (Tibetan: དབུ་རུ།), a prosperous and flourishing land, filled with wealth like the ocean, shining the white light of the teachings like the sun. In the past, the creator of the world from the heavenly realm, The purifier, the daughter of Brahma, the path of the three realms, Without letting her sink into the tangled hair of the abductor Shiva, Descended to the earth, purifying the defilements of the ancestors. Among all the deeds of the perfectly enlightened ones, The most supreme is the deed of speech, which is so wondrous. By the stream of the auspicious river of purifying bath, Washing away all the sins of the father and ancestors. May the stream of future lineage never be exhausted, May the ocean of wealth always be full, May the plans of the monastery be higher than anywhere else, Possessing a precious environment of piled jewels. In the past, when the sole protector of the world (Buddha) Was highly praised by the assembly of desire realm lords, Indra (Śakra) merely remembering this 'Prajnaparamita', Completely triumphed over the army of Mara holding bows and arrows. In any place where this herb exists, Even its scent can repel venomous snakes. Even a part of this 'Prajnaparamita', Can prevent harm from the army of Mara and untimely death, etc. Therefore, writing this 'Prajnaparamita' in a book, Whoever performs generosity, offerings, or recitations, The Four Great Kings will closely attend, eliminating all faults, And easily bestow all supreme accomplishments. Such logical teachings gave me unwavering faith, And through the offerings to the Holy Mother (Prajnaparamita) obtained, From the resulting immeasurable pure virtuous deeds, May the King of Merit, the extremely stable and auspicious Sage, Purify his mindstream and be filled with the accumulation of qualities.
