【English Translation】 NKL310 of Ngawang Kunga Lodro's Teachings: Request for the Long Life of Kyabje Rinpoche. Request for the Long Life of Kyabje Rinpoche. Request for the Long Life of Kyabje Rinpoche. Svasti! May you grant us the actual attainment of fulfilling our wishes as desired. You are the giver of all the perfections of existence and peace, the master of samsara and nirvana, the sacred refuge, the protector, savior, and companion of all beings to be tamed in general and in particular. In all times, places, and circumstances, you shower the great rain of auspiciousness. Now, with all auspiciousness, please grant us the actual attainment of fulfilling our wishes as desired. Regarding this, as it is said in the scriptures: 'Among the aspirations of the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra, even if one dwells for as many eons as there are dust particles in a field, I prostrate with great faith and request before them.' Shantarakshita said: 'When the Teacher intends to pass into nirvana, I earnestly request with folded hands, do not leave this world blind, please remain for countless millions of eons.' The great lama, the Dharma King Phakpa Rinpoche, said: 'As long as sentient beings remain, do not pass into nirvana, but always remain, for the benefit of all beings, I request with folded hands.' As such, there are many mentions in the sutras and shastras. For the Dharmakaya of the perfectly enlightened Buddha, which pervades the sky, and the Sambhogakaya with the five certainties, there is no need to request them not to pass into nirvana, because that is their very nature, and they do not deviate from it. However, Jamyang Sakya Pandita said: 'You are the Buddhas and the sons of Buddhas, as well as ordained and lay people, manifesting various forms, maturing all those to be tamed.' Thus, except for those who are the emanations of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and those who hold the lineage of immortal life, for all other holders of the teachings and accomplished masters who teach according to what is appropriate for each individual, it is necessary to request them not to pass into nirvana, and to pray that their lotus feet remain firm and abide for countless eons. Now is the appropriate time, the Lord of Compassion, Avalokiteshvara, who is the crown jewel of all Bodhisattvas, is universally the protector of beings as vast as space, and especially for any sentient beings, he tames them with inconceivable magical displays. In the sacred land of India, he manifested as Dharma King Konchok Bang, and together with the immaculate Lama Drime Ozer, and the wisdom dakini Gusali Sangwa Yeshe, made many prophecies about the future. At that time, as prophesied, he manifested as the Dharma King of Tibet, etc.

【English Translation】 Thus, there are countless stories of their efforts to promote the well-being of sentient beings, especially known for incarnating as the seven holders of the monastic robe (Ngurmig Dzinpa), all of whom possess perfect characteristics. Omniscient Gedun Drub, Je Gedun Gyatso, Je Sonam Gyatso, Je Yonten Gyatso, Omniscient Ngawang Lobsang Gyatso, before Jigme Gocha Thubten Langtso, Je Rinchen Tsangyang Gyatso, and the incomparable benefactor Gongsa Dorje Chang Lobsang Kelsang Gyatso, all these incarnations have served as the supreme jewel on the crown of all Dharma holders in both remote and central regions. If their extraordinary deeds and biographies are examined with an unbiased mind, one will undoubtedly be convinced that they are the protectors who subdue the wild beings of the degenerate age. This is a deep-seated conviction. Thereafter, to benefit sentient beings, they will continue to incarnate until the end of samsara. In the auspicious Potala Palace (Grudzin Phodrang Chenpo), where auspiciousness naturally gathers, their golden throne will be passed down without interruption, as confirmed by authentic prophecies and pure wisdom. Therefore, we and the gods will regard you as our protector, refuge, and ally, the pinnacle of the wise, the best of the accomplished, the wish-fulfilling jewel that fulfills worldly desires, the sovereign king of power, the wish-fulfilling jewel that subdues the wild and eliminates decline. You will take on the responsibility of benefiting sentient beings. You are the sole lifeline of the Three Jewels' teachings, as the scripture says: 'In the final five hundred years, I will incarnate as the image of a teacher, regard me as myself, and generate respect for it.' Therefore, the seventh incarnation from the seven holders of the monastic robe, the name of Omniscient Kelsang Gyatso brings auspiciousness and eliminates hundreds of misfortunes. He will guide limitless beings to the path of liberation through the general Buddhist teachings, especially the teachings of Je Tsongkhapa. His incarnate moon-like face has been confirmed by infallible prophecies, and his extraordinary deeds have filled the earth with glory. 【English Translation】 May you never waver from this play of mind, and may your lotus-wheel-marked feet remain steadfast for oceans of kalpas. Bestow the Dharma wheel, including Sutra, Tantra, and all fields of knowledge, according to the individual capacities of those to be tamed, and may you reside as the sacred source of common and supreme accomplishments. We offer this supplication with great, unfeigned devotion. The petitioners are my kind root guru, the venerable Lama Lodro, and all of us faithful disciples. We pray with one voice, beseeching you to accept our request and allow this excellent response to ripen in our hearts. We respectfully offer this Mandala and Khata to the esteemed one bearing the names 'Rinpoche' and 'Jetsun.' This was written in brief portions over about three days during a journey by Sakya Pa Kunlo and others, and entrusted to my son Wang for refinement. May it be auspicious!
