【English Translation】 A Prayer to Jetsun Kawa Zhije from the Chakchen Lotsawa Teachings TSR8. Namo Guru Ratna Bhadraya (Tibetan: ན་མོ་གུ་རུ་རཏྣ་བྷ་དྲཱ་ཡ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: नमो गुरु रत्न भद्राय, Sanskrit Romanization: Namo Guru Ratna Bhadraya, Literal meaning: Homage to the Guru Jewel Auspicious). You are the embodiment of the Three Jewels, the source of precious accomplishments, Whose virtuous activities spontaneously accomplish the four actions. Kind Guru, protector of all beings, From the depths of my heart, I pray with utmost reverence. You are of divine lineage, born as a descendant of Jowo (referring to Atisha), In the delightful medicinal valleys of the king of forests. Ordained by Konchok Gyaltsen, Cutting through vast external attachments, I prostrate to you. From the Dharma King named Namkhai (Sky), You received the nectar essence of Shambhala's profound meaning. Through one-pointed meditation, You realized the ultimate reality, I prostrate to you. You are the lineage of Rigdzin Sangye Tenpai Gyaltsen, The mind-free Dharma that transcends the nine vehicles. The supreme heart essence of Garab Dorje, I prostrate to you who manifested the intention of Kunzang (Samantabhadra). From the powerful Namgyal Zangpo, You heard Padma's heart essence, the secret wrathful mantra. Through practice, the power of fierce mantras was realized, I prostrate to you who enslaved the oath-bound protectors. In the land of the great city of Nepal, From Heruka Pak Tsang Nyon Chökyi, You perfectly received the profound Mahamudra Dharma. I prostrate to you who sees all phenomena as Dharmakaya. Delusional appearances and afflictive clouds dissolve into the expanse, The sun of clear light and great bliss dawns in your heart. You directly see the faces of deities and protectors, I prostrate to you, the great accomplished one who has reached the ultimate power. You are the all-pervading primordial Buddha Kunzang (Samantabhadra), The supreme refuge of beings to be tamed in the snowy land, Thotreng Tsal. The renowned kind Kawa Zhije, From the depths of my heart, I prostrate to your inseparable feet. Thus, through praying with reverence from the depths of my heart to the Jetsun Lama, May I and all sentient beings as vast as the sky, Be cared by the supreme Lama, May all activities be accomplished without hindrance, May ordinary deluded appearances dissolve into the expanse, May the intention of Kunzang (Samantabhadra) be accomplished in this life through the feast of recognizing one's own awareness! This is a praise to the Jetsun Lama, the great Iron Staff Kawa Zhije, Ngawang Ratnabhadra. Requested by the Jetsun's nephew, the Dharma King Todan Oser, and composed by myself, driven by faith.
